I shared some big moves in tech live on The Schwab Network show Trading 360 on September 16, 2025.
Here’s a recap of the market movers I covered: First up, we talked about the TikTok deal. The US and China reached a last-minute deal on September 15 to avoid a nationwide ban. This happened just days before the ban was set to happen. But here’s the kicker: reports say the US version may still use ByteDance’s Chinese algorithm, but that it will be trained on American user data. Serious questions remain about who will really control the platform. This is despite US officials insisting that any deal must ensure TikTok’s recommendation algorithm is fully severed from ByteDance
Next up, we talked about the Mag 7 magnate that is Nvidia! The AI giant is facing China headwinds, like antitrust probes and low demand for new AI chips designed to comply with export controls. But, there’s a tailwind too: a $6.3B investment in CoreWeave, securing cloud capacity and strengthening the US’s AI infrastructure.
We then moved on to Tesla, which is working hard to evolve well past EVs. Elon says AI and robotics, including Optimus, could be 80 percent of Tesla’s value. Investors? Mixed reactions. Elon’s $1 billion dollar stock buy signals confidence, but questions remain: how fast will robots and AI turn into real revenue?
And, we had to talk AI and how the rivalries are heating up. OpenAI just hired xAI’s former CFO. Strategic move? You bet. This isn’t just talent; it’s a chess play in the Elon vs. Sam AI showdown.
Basically, tech is moving fast. Looking at just TikTok, Nvidia, Tesla, and OpenAI, which do you think will shake the market next? Follow me for all the updates!
